It has been a very long year and a half since we last had an in-person event, and we have missed you all very much.
Last year we announced that we would not have any in-park events in 2020, and for the foreseeable future, which it turns out also included 2021. Luckily, we were able to launch MouseAdventure In a Box to fill the gap, and are thankful that so many of you participated in our at-home games.
Typically at this time of year we start working on our calendar of events for the following year. Unfortunately, things are still up in the air for so many things. First and foremost on our minds is the health and safety of ourselves and our teams. Secondly, we need to consider our ability to host in-park events in the way we have in the past. A trip to a Disney Park now not only includes travel logistics and ticket purchases, but theme park reservations also.
In order to make an in-person event work, we need to give you all enough notice so you can make travel plans. We also need to give ourselves enough time to visit the parks, do research, and write those crazy quests. Having to rely on the availability of reservation slots adds another layer of uncertainty on the already uncertain conditions that exist right now.
The current reservation system at Disney coupled with the changes to Annual Passes on both coasts make it difficult for us to visit as we have in the past to write, and it also poses a challenge for our teams that used passes to enter the parks on event day. Just like you, we are anxious to return to hosting in-park events. We really love what we do and have missed the in-person interactions with teams.
We are currently considering some new Adventures at non-Disney locations. We love our core base of Disney adventures and never want to give that up, but we think there are fun opportunities at other parks too.
We would love to hear your thoughts on how to make 2022 a year we can all look forward to and enjoy. Please respond to this post, shoot us an email, chat on our forums, or comment on our social media platforms.
We would love to know:
- Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? If not, any guess on a timeline you think is realistic?
- Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where?
- What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events?
- Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing?
- Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there?
- Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events?

1. Yes I feel safe going to theme parks.
2. I’m not interested in other parks/locations. The fun for me is puzzles WITH Disney.
3. I typically used an AP to play
4. The new Key situation would not inhibit me as long as you tell us far enough ahead so we can reserve. Probably should have us make reservations before registering for the game.
5. Reservations are annoying but wouldn’t keep me from playing, if I can.
6. ABSOLUTELY YES keep the boxes in between in person!!!
Perhaps this is why we never do better than middle of the pack but I’m just going to say “ditto” to this on every question.
I’ll add I would say yes to another locale if it were interesting enough.
I would LOVE to see an Adventure at Knott’s! Was there recently for the first time in awhile and realized how fun it would be to play in Ghost Town.
Also yes please keep boxes but maybe make them a little shorter because the long period of time it takes for us to finish prevents us from starting because we have to carve out a whole day or two to play.
1. I live in Florida and still have been visiting the parks. I feel comfortable with Disney’s safety precautions.
2. I’m interested in wherever honestly but as a Florida resident it’s hard to get to other locations as cost effectively as WDW. The resort games have been really fun though. And the one at Springs was one of my favorites!
3./4. I’m an annual passholder for WDW, not affected by changes at this time
5. Depending on the park it hasn’t been difficult to get reservations and with enough notice I don’t see a reason it would inhibit things. It does make park hopping difficult though so any WDW event would probably not be able to be hopped at this point.
6. 100000000 times yes. The boxes are so fun!!!
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? YES
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? NO
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events? AP

1. Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? If not, any guess on a timeline you think is realistic?
Yes, and I’m fine with whatever mask or vaccine restrictions they go with now or in the future.
2. Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where?
Definitely YES!! Universal if it’s in Orlando or the L.A. area, but I could do other theme parks (Six Flags, Cedar Fair, etc.), museums, or even just resorts. To me, these events are much more about the quests than the location.
3. What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events?
Single day tickets.
4. Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing?
No.
5. Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there?
No? I haven’t really followed this during the pandemic.
6. Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events?
Absolutely yes! It allowed for friends and family that can’t easily travel to the coasts to finally participate with us.
We have been hoping to get back to an in-park event, we really miss them. I agree right now the logistics for you most of all are tough, you must visit multiple times to prepare an event. You need to feel comfortable and be safe first and foremost.
Personally we would feel comfortable going to the parks next year, as long as there was enough notice to plan. Perhaps in the Fall ?? With the 50th Anniversary coming up it may be crazy there for a while, better to let it slow down a bit.
We would only be interested in WDW Mouse Adventure.
We are AP holders, we are master planners on vacation so would be able to work whatever system to make it happen.
The In-A-Box is awesome for the time being and also in between when we get back to live events. We will always participate.
Thanks for all you do !!!

What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events? -Single day ticket
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing? -N/A

Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? If not, any guess on a timeline you think is realistic?
Not concerned at all.
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where?
Sure!!! Our team has played at Knott’s and it was a ton of fun.
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events?
Usually an AP. But for the near future, I would buy a one-day pass.
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing?
NO!
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there?
I haven’t used it yet, but I think with enough notice it would be fine.
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events?
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
1. Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? If not, any guess on a timeline you think is realistic?
Yes, I would go to the park any time
2. Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where? No – sorry DLAND only for this girl
3. What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events?
Annual pass
4. Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing?
No.
5. Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there?
I think it could be an issue. No way of knowing when they might close reservations for a given date. Obviously advance notice would help, but maybe multiple game days could be offered? So if one day is closed there is still a chance to participate.
6. Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events?
Yes – I would do both if given the option.
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? If not, any guess on a timeline you think is realistic? Yes, I feel safe.
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where? No.
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events? Annual passholder
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing? Not at all
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there? No
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events? Yes
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? If not, any guess on a timeline you think is realistic?
Yes I’ve been going to the parks on both coasts here and there since they reopened
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where?
Knotts, maybe Universal Orlando or Hollywood (my team doesn’t have passes to universal but I do)
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events?
Annual pass
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing?
No, purchasing dream key next week
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there?
No, as long as event dates are announced ahead and try to aim for weekends without other events
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events?
Yes!
We live in Canada and the boarder is still closed for us coming down so we would love to keep playing the box games.
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently?
Yes, I feel completely safe at Disney Parks!
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where?
I love the puzzles that the MA crew constantly comes up with. I also love Disneyland so the marriage between the two has been fantastic. I believe that any place that is rich in detail would serve as a great place for TGG to produce clever and creative quests. I’m sure that they could send us to downtown L.A. and they would find enough content to keep us challenged. I understand the need, though, of keeping the playing area contained. With it a little harder now to get into Disneyland I think any Park would be great!
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events?
I have used both single day tickets and, more recently, AP’s. I have not purchased a Magic Key but if there was to be a MA in Disneyland or DCA that would probably spur me on to purchase one.
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing?
No. See above.
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there?
I have not been to the Parks since reopening with the reservation system. I am a little nervous about reservation availability but I would brave the new system if MA were back in the Parks. Would it be possible for Disney to reserve 500 spots for MA player reservations when a date is decided upon?
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events?
I have loved the Boxes! Yes, by all means continue with the boxes! As a matter of fact, I also loved the once-a-month puzzles from last year. In all of your spare time I’m hoping that you could do something like that again. Or…have different teams produce these once-a-month puzzles. Like a guest host kind of thing. I’m sure that you could find 12 teams that could each produce one puzzle over the course of the year. They submit them to you for checking then we all get to share in their creativity!
Love the guest puzzle-writer idea! My new spouse and I wrote Ohio-themed puzzles for our wedding and the guests seemed to love them. I think we’d be interested in trying our hand at writing a Disney puzzle!
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently?
Yes I definitely feel safe going to the parks…Already have a few times..Got a pass!
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks?
Just @ Disneyland
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events?
I have done this once and I believe I used my pass to enter the park
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing?
Not if you plan the event on a day the Believe Passes can enter the park
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there?
NO Not at all! I have used the park reservation system now for 6 visits in 3 months. Not a problem at all…very easy to use!
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events?
No, we tried one at home and it was just too hard to participate and keep everyone’s enthusiasm up for the In a box event. Probably will not get another In a Box again.
1. Yes! I feel safe going to the parks and would be willing to comply with any mask mandates or health/safety regulations. Not a problem.
2. Probably not since I’m not local. I fly out from Denver to play. I wouldn’t spend the money to fly out for any other parks besides Disney.
3. One day ticket every time
4. N/a
5. I haven’t used the reservation system yet but I think with enough notice it would be fine.
6. YES! Love the In A Box series!! Please continue those if possible!
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? Yes.
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where? Disney parks would be first choice, but I would be open to other locations like Knotts or Universal. In a way that would be fun; since teams aren’t as familiar with the other locations it would level the playing field and put more emphasis on puzzle solving and less on Disney knowledge.
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events? AP in the past
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing? No.
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there? No.
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events? Yes, they’re a lot of fun!
1) Yes, absolutely. Disney has good restrictions in place and we miss it!
2) I would, but depends on the park/location. I really liked the family museum one in SF
3) One day tickets / cast member sign in
4) Nope, not at all. Never have had one, neither has anyone on my team
5) Nope, reservations are relatively easy to do assuming it isn’t planned on a super popular weekend (which you usually do a great job of avoiding anyway). We haven’t had issues going on the days we want to.
6) Yes, the more the merrier! I actually kinda wish they were longer (maybe not quite as long as the first one though!) But these are awesome and well put together.
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? If not, any guess on a timeline you think is realistic? Yes
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where? No although Disney Springs or Disney Hotels would be fun again too.
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events? AP
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing? No
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there? I have had problems getting reservations at certain parks. But Epcot always seems to be open.
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events? YES PLEASE!

* Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? If not, any guess on a timeline you think is realistic? YES, Disney’s protocols are sufficient for me to continue park touring.
* Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where? YES. Live in the Midwest but head to FL often. Universal adventures would interest me.
* What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events? AP
* Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing? No, will continue to play.
* Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there? It’s cumbersome but wouldn’t stop me from participating.
* Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events? Yes, those are still a lot of fun.
1. Yes, I feel safe going to the parks currently.
2. Yes. We enjoyed the Universal studios games. We also enjoyed another puzzle game at Legoland and Balboa Park.
3. I had an annual pass in the past and now have a magic key.
4. No
5. I think we should be able to work with the current reservation system.
6. While they box series was ok, I was done after the second one. It wasn’t worth my limited free time.
Thanks for all of your hard work as always!
We’ve moved to the UK so in-park experiences aren’t feasible for us (unless you’re thinking Disney Paris, in which case we’re all in!). Hope you continue with game-in-a -ox offerings. They’re fantastic!
1) Not really, but would probably give it a go for a game
2) Sure!!
3) AP
4) Possibly? Haven’t made a decision about the “key thing” yet.
5) Not sure, haven’t tried to use it
6) Yes, please!!
Thanks for asking us our thoughts
1) yes , we feel somewhat safe in the park- we wear our masks and try to keep some distance
2) Yea to other parks–Did Universal Take 2 a few Christmases ago and loved it– Knotts would be fun also– we love the games and would enjoy other parks
3) A military ticket and one of us has an AP —
4)Might only one has Key but we could get single day tickets as we would if we played in a different park
5) No– given enough time probably could get reservation– but Keys are filling up the weekends right now 5 weeks out it looks like
6) Yes– love the box have played all 5 but they are different as it seems to be how good your computer skills are rather than your observational skills– miss walking around from place to place
Again thank you for all the games– a few really frustrate us– but make us better game players
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? YEP!!!
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? Maybe, but not really. Depends on how far. We come from San Diego.
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events? AP
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing? No but only have Enchant Key which limits Sundays only in off times.
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there? No if enough time is given
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events? I THINK YOU SHOULD MAKE BOXES FOR US TO TAKE TO THE PARK. Like the packages, you already sell but a real up-to-date game that we could do on our own. Like make a Box that could be played any day in March or for a Season. Teams could then plan their own mini-competitions between each other if wanted, or even more than 4 people can be a team. You could have a website with hints. You could even make them ride rides with long lines since there is no time limit. Imagine the fun you could have 🙂
Thank you for all your amazing work and creative minds! MAs are the epitome of my favorite things and can’t wait to be back in person. It will be one crazy adventure.
Love this seasonal bring-to-the-park-box idea! Sounds super fun. A hybrid of the park events and the boxes!
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? If not, any guess on a timeline you think is realistic? – yes I feel safe, as long as mask mandates and such continue to be enforced.
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? If so, where? – I honestly don’t know.
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events? – annual pass.
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing? – partially. I’m an employee now and there are different reservation calendars for us, which further complicates things.
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there? – again, I don’t know. It would require a lot of additional effort just to get the team entrance on the day of the game.
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events? – yes, please! I’ve loved these boxes as have my teammates. It was a great way to feel connected to the parks even though we weren’t there.
1. Yes, we feel safe in the parks. We were actually in Epcot today saying “I hope Mouse Adventure is able to come back”.
2. We would love to see adventures in Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure. The Harry Potter areas have so many details, they could make for awesome game sites. We also think the Art of Animation/Pop Century puzzles were great and lots could be done at the resorts.
3. We use regular multi-day tickets.
4. No, not annual pass holders.
5. I don’t think the park reservation system would make things too difficult as long as people had time to make plans. At least several months might be needed. Or start the game after 2PM and people can check in to any park and then use a park hopper to go to whichever park is the site of the game.
6. We don’t play the box games but we are eagerly awaiting in-person games.
Coming back to this post very late, but just wanted to share our support and love for TGG and MA! Below are our answers.
Do you feel safe going to the parks currently? Yes! We’re vaccinated, boosted, and ready to puzzle!
Would you be interested in Adventures at other parks? Yes! We love what y’all do and would be interested in any location. Disney resort hotel? Disney Springs? Universal park? A different park? A museum? We’re interested in anything.
What type of ticket media do you usually use to participate in our events? Have not yet participated in a live event. Only done the boxes and the on-your-own printed puzzle packages. We are not AP holders though.
Will the current Annual Pass situation inhibit you from playing?
Nope.
Do you think Disney’s park reservation is too much to deal with for an in-park event there? Haven’t used it yet, but I don’t expect so. We can plan ahead.
Would you still want us to continue our In a Box series, in between in-park events? Definitely! We’ve done them all and love them.
