D’oh! I had my Mickey ears on the whole time so missed all the BTTF references.

Thank you again MA staff for an awesome return back to Disneyland!!! It was so great to be back in the parks on The Hottest Day Ever with two “new” lands to find even more new details about. Being surrounded by all the competitors and having to dodge strollers while looking for painted grapes… there’s nothing like it.

I must say the check-in at the bottom ramp of Pixar Pals reminded me of the humble beginnings when we used to start at the picnic tables. Very nostalgic haha. It was super fast and efficient, kudos to Chris and the check-in team!

My favorite quest was the Pirate’s Lair one. We never found the very first step (the “x”) so we basically tried the rest of the route starting from many different configurations until we were able to find where the tunnel ended. What made it my favorite, though, was the idea of following a path like a treasure map.

The Eye Spy was really tough this time. And I have a feeling that it was referencing something. Can someone tell me what it was? (Fax, Slacker…) and what were the “Bit O’ Switzerland” rides and where could you find the Jungle Juice?

I brought two new people to their first MouseAdventure and they had a really fun time too. We already can’t wait for the next one!

Also Joe if you’re reading this, one thing I thought of that might help recapture some of the competitive feel of the in-person games with the MA in a Box is to maybe have a live leaderboard/progress chart so you can see where other teams are in completing quests? Just one idea.

Thanks for the recap and the game once again! It was interesting to hear how things were smoothed over for Round 2 (that audio puzzle was…phew!) I had a a lot of fun and appreciate how much work it took to make this happen. And for the first time, we got to solve all the MA quests correctly lol

The Little Rascals also gives their thanks to the TGG team for a great time. I didn’t really know what to expect considering the difference in the amount of theming between USH and DL/DCA but was pleasantly surprised. It really did help me see things in a new way, which is partly the reason I play these games. In particular, I was astounded by the amount of theming in the Westminster area of the park.

Our team was able to solve all the quests (save for the hidden quest/eye spies), which is a first for me! We were really excited until we heard that several other teams achieved the same thing :p

We were really struggling finding the ET plaque. We were stuck on the word “nearby” and were checking The Mummy and even Jurassic Park. Finally my teammate said “What if it’s at Panda Express?” And bam.

I thought these puzzles were a little easier than usual (I’m used to the MA “we give you more tham we expect you to finish, time management is part of the strategy”) but I thought it made for great pacing because we needed all downtime we could get due to the heat and the lack of shade the park has.

Lots of people were interested in what we were doing and I think we gave away all our cards within the first two hours.

My favorite quest, I think, was the cypher quest because I didn’t get to solve it last time during MA as my other teammates were in charge of that while I solved the logic puzzle. It is a very cool puzzle. Thank you to Chris for cutting up all those pieces of tape.

Speaking of cool puzzles, I did miss the evil paragraph and the logic puzzles. After the word search, those are my jam.

Overall I would love to see another game at USH but I am intrigued by a game at Knott’s now that I know that this game seems travel well!

Great job to all involved. And thanks for my new little Minion!

The Little Rascals (Emperor’s New Crew in MA speak) have found their way into the game and are excited to be playing the first edition of this game! I still remember reading with envy all the old MouseAdventure recaps before I was able to play myself and vividly remember reading about the very first MouseAdventure.

As a frequent goer to Universal as well, I’m hoping this will provide a fresh look at the parks for me!

Is it just me or did this registration date come really fast? Lol

I’m scrambling to assemble my team but excited about this game’s theme!

Are photos from the games being put up on Google Photos anytime soon? A link to them is usually included in the recap but I don’t see it. Thanks!

What’s funny is that in previous MAs, we would always look in the stores without a thought (especially Pooh Corner) but I think that new rule made me think twice before going into any store haha. Maybe the rule should’ve just applied to the Briar Patch?

And please keep the scatters! I remember the first time you introduced it and I thought it was the most ingenious thing ever. It makes the start of the game a lot smoother.

Regarding the darkness in the AMC, isn’t there a setting for all the lights to be on? Was that the maximum brightness? I have to say that the light show going on the front was very amusing, though 🙂

And thanks for the hidden quest clue–darn it, I was the one in the team that put the tea bag away right after we unwrapped the quest haha.

Looking forward to this recap in particular!!

Phew, reading these posts has been somewhat comforting. For some reason, I found this MA harder compared to some others. I felt like we definitely had to find more things and I think that the new rule about only two people going into stores threw me off. Like SSMORES, we started a bunch of quests but weren’t able to find enough of the clues to finish. Like, we were thisclose to solving the mirror quest but couldn’t figure out what was the sold item was 🙁

And I was also one of those people who put the tea bag away haha.

Oh well, thanks MA Team for putting on another great event! I really liked the AMC venue and check-in went faster than I ever remember it going (maybe it was the smaller amount of players but I’d chalk it up to the efficiency of your staff). One of my teammates missed the reception and formal Q&A (and I have to say I did too) but understand why it wasn’t done. I also liked how fast orientation was! I just wish the game could’ve started earlier since we finished a half hour early, but then again I did like the extra time to just relax before the game started.

And those tea bags were so cute!! Great iDEa 🙂 Can’t wait for the next MA already haha

Since this is through Third Gate Games now, do we still bring our yellow lanyards again or are we getting new ones?

“Does anyone know what time (the Advanced) starts and how long the Adventure takes?”

They will email a schedule closer to the date, but the game usually starts near 9 AM and ends around 3-4 PM. However, it seems like things might be different this year!
